ESWL (Extracorporeal Shockwave Lithotripsy): A non-surgical procedure that uses shockwaves to break kidney stones into smaller pieces. They'll put him under anesthesia, sink him in a tub of water and blast away. Sounds like fun...if all goes well, jim will "pass" the sand that's left and the stint will be removed in a couple of weeks.

OUCH!! That is what I can say. I remember it well when I went through that in Dallas, mine was small enough to pass and I still almost passed out.
